How long is induction?
Induction takes 5 days if you work in Care and 3 ½ if you work in an admin or head office role. You will get paid for your induction training. The induction is very valuable to start you on your Jewish Care journey. You will complete your induction with up to 11 other new starters who will become your induction network group. This way you can immediately know others in the organisation (outside of your area) and talk to them if you have any issues going forward.
Will Jewish Care pay for my training?
It depends. We will, where possible pay for training or source funding on your behalf. All mandatory and statutory training (that is training to do your job) will be paid for. If it is extra training we might struggle to pay for it. However, we have a solid budgeting process so if you and your manager agree that the training is vital to your job we can budget for it.
We will help you gain your NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care and your Leadership and Management Awards where appropriate to your job role.
How do I book on to a course?
You book onto a course by discussing the course with your line manager. Your manager should email or call Christine Wiseman to reserve your place on the course. If for any reason you have to cancel your place on your course you should discuss this with your line manager and let the Learning and Development Department know as soon as possible. We take attendance on courses very seriously and if you cancel without good reasons your service manager will be notified
What training can I receive?
Training for NVQs and ILMs.
We are lucky in Jewish Care in that we have a good training programme and you can be assured that we will provide you with the training to do your job to the best of your ability. We offer NVQs in Health and Social Care, Advice and Guidance and Customer Service. For managers we offer the Leadership and Management award and ILM programmes. Please feel free to call the Learning and Development Department to discuss all our training courses.
